Editorial Board
The team of contributors is made up of leading Russian and African researchers. It also features representatives of federal executive and legislative authorities of Russia and African countries, as well as interested enterprises and organizations. Representatives of public and non-profit organizations also took part in the work.
Alexey Vasilyev
Honorary president of the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (since 2015); Head of the Department of African Studies and Arabic Studies of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (since 2013); President of the Center for Civilization and Regional Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Member of the Scientific Council under the Security Council of the Russian Federation; Member of the Scientific Expert Panel under the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; Member of the Foreign Policy Council of the Russian Foreign Ministry; Member of the Scientific Council of the Russian Council on International Affairs; Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on issues of economic, socio-political and cultural development of African countries. Vladimir Kazimirov
Vladimir promotes cooperation between Russia and Africa within the framework of the Roscongress Foundation activities. He is an expert focused on Russia-Africa relations, a graduate of the African Studies Department, St. Petersburg State University (Languages and cultures of West Africa; Master's degree in Politics and International relations); Head of Regional Division, Roscongress Foundation, responsible for Africa, Middle East, and South Asia.
Evgeny Korendyasov
Russian diplomat with a Ph.D. degree in Economics; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR to Burkina Faso (1987-1991) and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Burkina Faso (1991-1992); Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Mali and Niger (1996-2000); Expert at the Russian Council on International Affairs.
Andrey Maslov
Graduate of the African Studies Department, St. Petersburg State University (2000); In 2006 he received the Derzhava Award for his "What Policy in Africa Does Russia Need?" project as the chairperson of the non-profit partnership Rosafroekspertiza (2003-2008). He further gained a wide range of experiences working in Africa for banking and energy ventures.
Vadim Zaytsev
Head of Quality at Intexpertise LLC, Vadim previously worked at a non-profit partnership Rosafroekspertiza (2006-2009) and then as an editor, senior editor, and editor of special projects at Kommersant Publishing House (since 2010); He is in charge of standards and quality management, compliance with the requirements for the analytical data being used in the Report.

Ndapwilapo Selma Shimutwikeni
Co-founder and managing director of RichAfrica Consultancy. An expert in natural resources law and policy, Selma advises leaders across the public and private sectors on inclusive business strategies, economic development and investment in oil, gas and mining sectors.
Selma holds an LLM degree in International Trade Law(2006-2008, Leeds University, UK), and an LLM in Mineral Law and Policy (2010-2011, Centre for Petroleum, Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) Dundee University, UK). In 2003 she also got a BSc. in Business Management and Computer Information Systems from La Roche College in Pittsburg, USA.
Valentin Bianki
Political consultant; Candidate of Psychological Science; Founder of Bianki and Partners, a company with a focus on managerial decision-making and strategic planning processes. Member of the Board of the Russian Association of Political Consultants (RAPC), member of the European Association of Political Consultants (EAPC), member of the Political Technologies Committee for the Russian Association of Public Relations (RASO), International Society of Political Psychology (ISPP). In 2003 Valentin graduated from the Department of Political Psychology, Faculty of Political Science, St. Petersburg State University, where he taught for more than 10 years after graduation. Specializes in the designing psychological and political studies; modeling psychological and political processes and phenomena.
Leonid Issaev
Deputy Head of the Laboratory at Higher School of Economics, Candidate of Political Sciences (2014). Holds a Master degree in Political Science from the Russian State University for the Humanities (2012) and the University of Cairo, Egypt (2010). Leonid specializes in Muslim law, political systems and processes in Arab countries, Islamic political philosophy. Trained in the League of Arab States, Egypt (2007); European Inter-University Center for Human Rights and Democratization, Italy (2011); Council of Europe (2015).
Ekaterina Dyachenko
Founder and CEO of an online platform that helps Russian industrial companies sell their products abroad — b2b-export.com, and an online edition — blog.b2b-export.com. Ekaterina has organized 5 Russian-African forums ''RusAfro'', and other regional forums to promote Russian products, ''RusAsia'' and ''Forula'' (Latin America). Contributed to the creation of the Skolkovo ecosystem for technology entrepreneurship and became the first head of the energy-efficient technology cluster. Previously, she worked as a Project Manager in McKinsey & Co, where she advised public and private companies on business strategies and operational transformations of the mining, steel, infrastructure and energy sectors in emerging markets of China, Brazil, South Africa, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Ekaterina also worked as Investment Director in A1 Investment Company, where she was involved in evaluating investment projects in the mining and oil sectors of over 15 African countries.
She graduated from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (MEPhI) with a degree in Applied Mathematics, and a corporate MBA program in Toronto; Master's candidate in Economic Policy in the School for Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
Ilyanin Vladimir
Department Branch Director for Business Development at Gazprom International. Graduate of the African Studies Department, St. Petersburg State University (2005). An expert in oil and gas industry, project planning and business strategy, Vladimir worked as Managing Director in Gazprom Oil and Gas Nigeria, and as Head of Division in GPB Neftegaz Services B.V. (2008-2011).
Andrey Zhulin
Vice-Rector, Director of the Institute for Public Administration and Governance, Member of the HSE Academic Council. Andrey holds a Master degree in Economics from Lomonosov Moscow State University (2003). Expert analytical support and implement applied research for governmental bodies. In 2012, he was awarded the National Order of Merit medal, II degree; received multiple commendations from state authorities, including the Russian Federation President's Message of Thanks (twice: 2013, 2017).
Isabel dos Santos
Isabel dos Santos was born to the second President of Angola (in office 1979-2017) Jose Eduardo dos Santos and Soviet Citizen Tatiana Kukanova in Baku, USSR on 1 of April 1973. According to Forbes, she is Africa's first billionaire woman and ranked 8th richest amongst all Africans (1008 worldwide), with assets value estimated to be around $2.3 Billion as at 2019.
The main source of her income has been in the start and development of companies in Africa. During the period from June 2016 to November 2017 dos Santos was in charge of restructuring the national oil company and held the office of Chairwoman of Sonangol (the Angolan state oil company).
Hamada Marina
Marina graduated from the Azerbaijan Oil and Chemistry Institute (1983) with a degree in petrochemistry (technology of basic organic synthesis). In 1997, she became an employee of the Algerian state oil and gas company Sonatrach. Since 2017 — Head of the chromatographic analysis service of the Sonatrach Research and Development Center. The service performs test measurement for all Sonatrach productive projects in the interests of third-party customers, including mixed and foreign companies in the energy sector of Algeria.
Hamada Boudjema
In 1980, he graduated from the National Institute of Oil, Gas, and Chemistry in Boumerdes, Algeria, with a degree in petrochemistry; then defended his Ph.D. in chemistry at the Department of Petrochemical Synthesis of the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry (1985). Professor at the University of Boumerdes, Head of the Research laboratory (since 2000). Corresponding member of the European Academy of Sciences Arts and Letters, and of the French Academy of Sciences and Literature in Toulouse.

Director of Infrastructure and Energy in the African Union Commission. Heads the following key Agenda 2063 projects: the Single African Air Transport Market, the Pan-African e-Network, the Integrated High Train Network, Grand Inga Dam and Cyber Security.

David Okpatuma
Youth, social development enthusiast, social entrepreneur and public speaker. David is a Member of the Friends for Leadership Network and also a Youth Advocate with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Youth Counsellor and educator of the YMCA, independent monitor with the World Health Organization. He is a сo-founder of the Power Circle Trust (Zimbabwe and Nigeria).
